A new chapter starts...

Today is my husband's last day of work. After 35 years working at the same company, today he retires. He is retiring a bit early, at age 61.

It's a new beginning. A new chapter of our lives together.

And since this is a new beginning for us both, I'm using the subject of "adjusting to retirement" to create a new beginning for this blog.

We will be on a "fixed income" from now on, but because we have spent the last 35 years saving and planning, we will be able to maintain a comfortable lifestyle. We probably won't be buying a vacation home or traveling around the world, but we will be comfortable on a day to day basis, and be able to travel a few weeks a year - which is what we have always done pre-retirement.

The really good news is - I get to hang out with my best friend a lot more. I thoroughly enjoy my husband's company, and am delighted to have more of it. I know I'm VERY lucky in that way!

The new blog will be a reflection of our new lifestyle - being frugal, traveling, grandchildren, household tips, cooking and baking healthy foods, and, in general, learning to adjust to retirement.

So here's to a new start, a new beginning, a new journey. And a new chapter to this blog!!

Life is good - and about to get even better!!!

congratulations on your DH retirement. You will love being with your best friend everyday. My DH and I have been retired together for about 8 years and we are not tired of being together. We do lots together and we do our own thing too. We did the same as ya'll did. we saved and now we live a great life style. Life is good!
