Menus for the Week

Grocery shopping is done, and there were some good meat buys this week. I bought two boneless pork roasts ($1.99 lb.) and had one cut into 1/2 inch chops, and the other left whole for a roast. From the sliced roast, I packaged and froze 16 pork chops, which is 5 meals for us (Jeff eats two, I eat one). Also on sale were bone-in chicken breasts and chicken thighs at .99 a pound. My favorite hot dogs, Hebrew National, were on sale, as well as ham steaks. Because of the salt content, we don't eat much ham, but I thought a steak would be nice with macaroni and cheese, and we'd have a portion leftover to have diced up in omelettes or scrambled eggs for breakfast.

MONDAY
Hot dogs, rolls
Corn on the Cob

TUESDAY
Ham Steak
Leftover mac and cheese
Steamed Green Beans

WEDNESDAY
Chef Salad with
L/O diced ham, hard boiled eggs, swiss cheese cubes
Ritz Crackers
THURSDAY
Sliced tomatoes/cucumbers

FRIDAY
Grilled Chicken Thighs
Grilled veggies

SATURDAY
Oven baked Haddock
Oven-fried potatoes/onions
Creamed Spinach

If you notice the link to the Pork Chops with Peaches and Couscous, you'll find a new blog of mine - TEACHING MY DAUGHTER TO COOK. The title is self-explanatory! Cooking 101 for my daughter - whom I forgot to teach to cook! It's a fairly new blog, but I'll be adding tried and true family recipes each week. This week I will probably add the Baked Haddock recipe, since she recently posted on FaceBook that she has no idea how to cook fish. Sigh sigh sigh. What was I thinking?!?

I'm participating in the following Weekly Menu Link-ups. Click on picture to go to the link and post your own menu or read lots of others!
