Just a quick update (Brayden is upstairs with Umpa "shaving"). Yes, I got my downstairs cleaned yesterday, and despite how tired I was last night, it felt great! Tomorrow Jeff and I will get the upstairs done.
Brayden and I did the "Race Car Painting" mentioned in this week's Toddler Tuesday. He had a GREAT time and it kept him busy for about 90 minutes! Here's photos of the artist at work and his resulting art work.

Looks like he had a blast! 90 minutes?! That's fantastic for a toddler! You can also try letting him fingerpaint with shaving cream....leaves your table nice and clean! Also, how about making your own play-dough?
Have fun!
PS....a good disposable paint smock is a trash bag.....also doubles as a rain poncho!
90 minutes all at one time? He likes a lot of repetition and focus then. Usually toddlers jump all around. I thought I would ask...this looks really messy. I prefer not to get paint, even washable varieties, on stuff in my house and on my kids clothes. Crayola, I think it is, now make these neat kids mats where the kids sit on the floor and colors appear as they wipe across it. Nothing to clean up too. Sidewalk chalk and play-doh are always easy clean ups too.
Hi Susan! Thanks for your comment. I purchased a roll of 24" wide drawing paper at Michael (only $4.99) and used masking tape to tape it to the table, so all of the table in Brayden's immediate reach was covered. I also controlled opening and pouring the paints. He told me what colors he wanted and where to put them, but I kept the actual bottles of paint out of his hands. Other than paint on his hands and shirt, there was NO mess at all!
