Joey thinks he's hiding

Can you find Joey?
Here he is!!! Hiding in the Fischer-Price garage I bought for Brayden... he thinks he needs an oil change, I guess. Sunrise on 09/28/07 in my back yard... sure was pretty!

Starting off my day with a smile

Jeff got up early and went out to a few yard sales, but I needed to catch up on some sleep, so decided not to go with him. I got up around 7:30, and was in the bathroom when I heard the phone ring. I answered it, and got no response, but I could tell someone was on the other hand. I said, "Hello?" again..no response. I then heard banging around in the background and thought it might be my daughter washing dishes.. so I said, "Hello?" again... and got this little voice that said...

"Hey....Umma!"

LOL! My grandson cannot say "Gramma" and when he tries, the word comes out "Momma". I believe this morning he was surprised to hear me and turned to his mother to say "Hey, I got Gramma on the phone!"

I haven't stopped smiling yet.

OK, so tilt your head to the left - it's worth it! :)

Court Won't Declare Chimp a Person Sep 27, 9:01 AM (ET)By WILLIAM J. KOLE VIENNA, Austria (AP) - He's now got a human name - Matthew Hiasl Pan - but he's having trouble getting his day in court. Animal rights activists campaigning to get Pan, a 26-year-old chimpanzee, legally declared a person vowed Thursday to take their challenge to Austria's Supreme Court after a lower court threw out their latest appeal. A provincial judge in the city of Wiener Neustadt dismissed the case earlier this week, ruling that the Vienna-based Association Against Animal Factories had no legal standing to argue on the chimp's behalf. My comment: Lucky for some that the courts can't reverse it and give some people the same status as chimps... For one person I know in particular, it would be a step up in the world.

Teaching Brayden to cook

Sometimes there is a reason...

Sometimes there is a reason for bad things happening in your life, or in the life of those you love. Consider this:

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a Wealthy family. The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room. Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement. As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.
When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep In their bed where they could have a good night's rest. When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and His wife in tears. Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could You have let this happen? The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused. The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and
You let the cow die.

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.
"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall. Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife. I gave him the cow instead."
Things aren't always what they seem.

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way you think they should.
